Environmental Education

The MFG has always viewed education and community outreach as fundamental to our program. Conservation efforts are not sustainable unless undertaken in conjunction with education and capacity-building initiatives for Malagasy decision-makers and the local communities that depend on natural resources. Our education activities, programs and resources have been developed to provide an integrated, multi-faceted approach to environmental education needs in the Toamasina region. Our methods, developed from decades of direct input and experience working with local school associations, teachers, parents and community leaders, continue to evolve to meet changing needs.
The MFG worked with local educators to develop a teacher's guide on environmental education....
MFG's Saturday School Program has enabled thousands of children to advance from primary to secondary school......
Older children have been inspired to form environmental clubs after attending camp at Parc Ivoloina (coming soon)...
